The Southwestern Illinois Joint Fire & Police Recruitment & Testing Consortium was formed in August 1998 with the expressed purpose of providing recruitment and testing services to member communities*. In addition, the Consortium serves as a forum for discussion, study, development, and/or implementation of ideas or plans of mutual interest and concern regarding the recruitment, application, and testing of candidates for the member fire and police departments.
*Presently, the Consortium consists of the following member communities: Collinsville , Edwardsville, Fairview Heights, Highland, and O'Fallon.
Each Consortium community offers a competitive annual salary in addition to overtime pay increases. Medical insurance, life insurance, a retirement program, plus college incentive pay is also available.
Why waste your time taking five different tests on five different weekends? By taking the Consortium test (one physical agility test and one written aptitude test) candidates have the potential to qualify for all five consortium communities.
